My relaxed and calming presence combined with a touch of humour, helps create a safe, trusting environment where you can feel at ease to explore your feelings and experiences. This is particularly important when addressing difficult issues like historical trauma, physical and psychological abuse, where a strong, trusting therapeutic alliance is essential.
My style is creative, often using metaphor, active imagination, and guided imagery to unlock deeper understanding and expression when words alone may not suit or suffice. When things refuse to be captured in words alone, I use a variety of techniques to help unlock deeper understanding and expression. In essence, I am an Integrative Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapist who connect diverse psychotherapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to meet client’s individual needs. Other therapeutic tools I use include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-sensitive mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
